hate is a strong word and i hate using it.

today was a good day for quotes like that.

and stories like this.
when you have no job prospects and no money, what do you do? sell your body? yes. plasma donation. the source of cash for college students everywhere. its great. the needles are frickin' huge, but when you're desperate, pickiness is not a luxury that you can afford. i was discussing this with a friend and, with a sassy remark about how i'm only in it for the money, the conversation turned to donating blood [a selfless service as he pointed out]. trust me. i am more than willing to donate blood. yes, getting stabbed with a huge needle that is then thrust around in my arm as the new nurse looks for my vein does sound a lot more inviting when cash is involved, but whatever. the point is i have tried donating blood and have never been able to. apparently im slightly anemic, a fact that i tried explaining to this kid. not enough red blood cells. the end. naturally, he didn't think my definition was legit. so i pulled out my handy dandy rumor slide phone, fully equipped with the internet to search for the official definition. and this is what we got:

anemia: the condition of having less than the normal number of red blood cells or less than the normal quantity of hemoglobin in the blood. persons with anemia may feel tired and fatigue easily, appear pale, develop palpitations and become unusually short of breath. children with chronic anemia are prone to infections and learning problems.

awesome.
